MyFamily handles the data from your Online Maternity Allowance Application with care
We are aware of the sensitivity of the data with which you provide us by completing the application. That is why, with this statement, we are informing you about which data we collect, how we process it and for what purpose.
When you apply for a maternity allowance, we will process your personal data in order to verify your entitlement to a maternity allowance and to ensure that payment is made properly and correctly. As a child benefit fund, this is part of our statutory tasks as stipulated in the General Child Allowances Act.
Overview of the personal data we process:
- Baby: Baby’s date of birth;
- Mum (child benefit recipient): national registration number, date of birth, first name,surname, (expected) date of delivery, number of previous children, e-mail address, telephone number, account number, medical certificate of pregnancy;
- Dad or co-parent: date of birth, first name, surname, number of previous children, e-mail address, telephone number.
In line with our statutory task and authorisation, we will verify the data we obtain from you using your data in the crossroads banks. If you opt for a payment into a bank account, we are required to verify with the bank whether you as the benefit recipient are the actual (co-)holder of the indicated bank account. The advantage of this is that this is now done electronically, so you do not have to go to the bank’s customer service desk to obtain a certification to this end.
We do not pass on your data to any other parties or organisations. MyFamily will use the e-mail address you enter to provide you with additional information about your child benefit and our communications department will also use it to inform you about actions or initiatives related to parenthood. You can always unsubscribe later.
If we establish that another child benefit fund is actually responsible for paying the maternity allowance for your child, we will forward your application to the competent child benefit fund and will notify you of this.
We will retain your data for as long as is necessary to fulfil our statutory obligations. You can read MyFamily’s general privacy statement here.
